Yo!
Appreciate you stopping by and wanting to learn a bit more about me.
I go deeper into my story in this post, particularly about my challenges with fitness and how this has impacted the business and brand I’m creating, but I’ll give you a brief overview here:
My career has taken me through a few different phases:
I spent my early twenties thinking that I wanted to be a full-time musician. I was myopically focused on music and playing guitar, but ultimately decided that wasn’t the right path for me.
I did one of those “coding boot camps” (it was real hard) and started my second career as a web developer.
Working in tech provided me with the time and income to pursue hobbies, and it was at this point that I discovered a passion for health and fitness.
I’d dabbled with fitness several times before but had never taken it seriously.
I continued to learn and push myself in fitness over the next few years.
Made a ton of mistakes and struggled with a sustainable approach to dieting, but ultimately made a lot of progress.
In September 2022, I decided to go in on something I’d been thinking about for a while, and I started my personal brand centered around health and fitness with the intention of starting a coaching business.
I acquired certifications from the ISSA as a Nutritionist, Strength & Conditioning Specialist, and Transformation Specialist, and I started a Twitter account.
It’s taken me some time to establish the angle I want, but through a year of learning, experimenting, and getting some initial experience, the result has been Thrive Protocol Fitness.
The focus of my coaching and content is to see health and fitness as an infinite game.
With all the fad diets and “8-week challenges,” it’s too easy to see fitness with a short-term mindset.
Challenges can be cool, but only if the lessons learned from them can be adapted to a long-term mindset.
Short-term thinking has been the biggest blocker in my own fitness success, and my mission is to simplify health and fitness and inspire people to create a long-term approach with no fad diets, no unnecessary restrictions, no comparisons, and no weird biohacking practices.
Thriving comes from playing a long-term fitness game that fits coherently with your values and life.
I want to help you get there.
I use this newsletter to share quick bite health & fitness tips, share in depth strategies, document personal experiements, and explore topics on self-improvement, mindset, and wellbeing.
If that sounds cool to you, I think you’ll dig it.
